Pilates for children has so many benefits. Pilates is for both boys and girls, Pilates is widely used within the professional sports world, some of the most famous footballers use Pilates as part of their training.

Pilates is strength building, as well as being an important tool for managing stress and anxiety. In our classes, we will incorporate well-being, mindfulness alongside posture, flexibility, balance and coordination.

Our classes for Children will work on fun fitness including skipping jumping, hopping speed and balance as well as specific Pilates fundamentals such as Control, Mobility Alignment, Breathing, Stamina Balance and mind body connection.

Pilates exercises are designed to improve core stability and upper and lower body strength but they will also help to improve moods too!

These sessions will focus on attention and concentration skills, mindfulness, core strength, coordination, flexibility, balance and posture.

We will also learn strategies for how to deal with our emotions - what to do if we get cross, tired, worried or anxious

The classes for older children and teenagers focusing on strength, physically and emotionally.

For the younger children we use music, scarves and balls in our classes to add fun and imagination to our classes for the children to being fun into the class.

It’s important to understand that physical development for children is mainly through play, at least up until the age of 7. It’s a given that kids love running around, jumping and bouncing.

All programs are designed to improve posture, alignment, core, flexibility, coordination, balance, strength in upper and lower body and well being. We also focus on improving fine and gross motor skills, attention, concentration and emotional regulation.
